If you are looking for a cheap still good quality bike, this one is a pretty good option. It folds and unfold easily and it's perfect to use if you commute. I have taken with me at the commuter train and I have had no problem. Some minor comments, the frame is different from the one that is shown in the photo, it is straight below the seat, without that nice curve; the bag which is included in the purchase of this item is useful, but is seems that could tear apart in any moment. -- Good choice
I did some research and saw that this was the one of the cheapest and best folding bikes out there. When I got it, it was all assembled and took no time to take it out.
However, the handlebars kept turning and it does take some effort to pedal. When I ride it, it's hard not to swerve around. The gears can be a little clicky too. I also had some bike mechanic friends try to fix issues with the handlebars and breaks to little avail.
I tried a more expensive folding bike at a bike shop which I think rode a lot better. I believe it was a $350 Dahon but then again, that's almost twice as much. It really depends how much you think you will ride it. If you are going to ride a lot, get a real bike or a better quality folding one. -- It's not as good as I thought it would be
Most of the other reviews on here are right on the $$ about this bike. A great bike for the money, but remember how little you spent in comparison.
I purchased 2 of these from Amazon (for my wife and I). Both bikes arrived in excellent condition in the box Schwinn ships it from China in. It is very enjoyable to ride once you make one change & one adjustment (and fill up the tires with air - they were at about 15psi out of the box).
- The seat it comes with is horrible (unless you are really into pain). I suggest replacing it with Amazon item #SW74163 (Schwinn Pillow Top Cruiser seat). That seat is excellent and made a great improvement.
- Adjust the dérailleur. BOTH bikes arrived with adjustments needed. Neither bike would go into first gear, and would fall off the sprocket when seventh gear was selected. And it was a PAIN adjusting it. But it can be done. Once completed, it shifted fabulously.
Overall - highly recommended for the $$. -- Pretty darn nice
I've had the Schwinn loop now for 2 weeks and really love it. I take it on the public train system in NJ(NJTransit)with no problems. Can fold it up in about 30 seconds. However, it is heavy. Ok for a guy or girl in good shape. But a weak girl will have issues for sure.
Like most bikes the original seat is too small to be comfortable, so I put on a big cruiser seat for a comfortable ride.
I just ordered buddy pegs to put on.
PS youtube has a great review of this bike, just search schwinn loop. Also, sorry Amazon, got mine from BJ's website and it came promptly, free shipping and fully assembled, after reading a reviewer was happy with the service. Amazon I'm sure will do the same, just my 2 cents.
-- So far, so good :)
